Family Banquet's Favorite Potato Salad


My family banquet mainly serves Western food, usually 4 to 9 dishes. Start with cold dishes, followed by snacks, salad, steaks as the main course, and desserts are mostly provided by guests.
 
Potato salad is often so popular that every time guests ask to take away the unfinished salad by vacuum bags. It's very easy to prepare potato salad, and the ingredients are not complicated. Potato salad can not only be served in a banquet, but also in a daily diet.
 
Ingredients 
Potatoes Two
Egg One
Ham Some
Celery, green beans or mixed vegetables Some
Apples A half
Mayonnaise 2 to 3 tablespoons
Salt Some
Black peppers Some
Lemons 1/4
 
The steps of preparing potato salad are as follows:
(1) Cook 2 potatoes until they can be easily pierced with chopsticks. Use cold water to cool the two potatoes. Peel and dice them.
(2) Boil one egg and dice it.
(3) Dice an appropriate amount of ham.
(4) Peel and dice half an apple.
(5) Cut 2 sticks of celeries into small cubes.
(6) Add 2 to 3 spoons of mayonnaise.
 
Please note that apples will increase the sweetness, which is the key to improving the taste of the whole salad.
 
 
 
For step 5, I use mixed vegetables consisting of green beans, carrots and corn sometimes to enrich the color and taste, as shown in the following picture. Because I don't often have these mixed vegetables and don't keep them at home, I will use other vegetables to replace them. The most commonly used ones are celery or green beans. You can also add cucumbers, but cucumbers need to be peeled and remove the center part.
 


Celery, green beans, cucumbers, and multi-colored vegetables can be substituted for each other. You can eat celery and cucumbers without cooking, but green beans or multi-colored vegetables need to be cooked for 1 to 2 minutes; put multi-colored vegetables in water to cool. You can put all the vegetables. It's up to you.
 
Dice and mix all the ingredients. Add 1/4 of lemon juice. Add 2 to 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise, salt and black pepper, and stir gently.
 
Notes
Choose hard apples instead of soft ones.
In addition to providing flavors, lemon is also used for anti-oxidation, making potatoes and apples not easy to discolor. 
Mayonnaise is the most common salad dressing, which is available in major supermarkets and grocery stores. 
The amount of salad dressing to be used should be adjusted according to the actual ingredients. It should be enough for the salad dressing to wrap the ingredients in a thin layer. If you add too much salad dressing, the potato salad will be greasy and fattening. The special flavor of the dish will be lost.
 
 
 
Tips
Cooking potatoes and eggs take a long time. It is recommended to cook potatoes, eggs and prepare lemon juice in advance. Then, put them in the refrigerator. After the guests arrive, you can add mayonnaise, salt and black pepper to the potatoes, eggs and vegetables, and mix them well. It only takes a few minutes before the potato salad is ready to be served.
